Joachim Silué, Gloves, 2014, Soil, black pigment, nails, iron wire, latex glove, balls and drawing on canvas, 80 x 75.5 x 11.5 cm

In my work, I portray the discarded and marginalized The individuals or entire communities that civil societies have never taken into consideration The invisible, who live on the poverty line and do not actually enjoy any kind of rights and therefore become vulnerable

The waste materials used in my work symbolizes those discarded living beings of society put together in my utopia to create a parallel universe An ambitious new world, full of life, joy where the future is nourished by variety, for differences are great opportunities and not barriers.

The discarded objects placed it in the foreground symbolically represent the solitude of the protagonists My work is a reflection of the damage that communities suffer when the self proclaimed intellectual elite do nothing to ameliorate the condition of the many.
